06-23-2019 – Keith Cozort – There Is A God-Part 2 (AM Sermon)

Even though it is somewhat of a gloomy day. Yes we are. As Terry said, thankful for the rain, we can always, well, most always we can use that sometimes gets to be too much, but not, not very often. Cheryl wanted Me to make mention to the ladies, Whoever Planning to come to the ladies class tomorrow morning, studying the book of acts.

Those of you who told her that you were interested in, that she gave you a Book this morning, a lesson Book that you’ll be using, but she wanted me to make mention to you. You do not have to have the first lesson finished by the time you come to class Tomorrow morning, If you want to work on it, that’s well and good,

but don’t feel like you have to have it finished before you come to class. So just Plan to come and you can work on it together tomorrow morning at 10 O’clock also, We’ve made mention a couple of different times in the last couple of months anyway, concerning brother Don Blackwell. And we sent some funds to him in the last couple of weeks in order to help him with his financial Circumcise Stance because of his health problems with his accident that he had.

I wanted to let you know, just to give you an update That he had a back brace on. And Whenever you had saw a picture of it any way, it looked like he had a piece of armor on, on the front. I don’t know if he had anything on the back or not, but anyway, it looked like a piece of armor that was on the front side that is now been able to be taken off His back,

has healed to the point where He can hold himself up by himself without having to have the back brace. And that’s a big improvement as far as that’s concerned. He also made mention earlier this week, I think it was, or the end of last week that as things are progressing the way that they are, he is anticipating that he’ll be able to get out of the hospital either the end of July or the first Part of August,

which is extremely That he would be able to recover that much that quickly. But he certainly is in need of our prayers. He still continued to say, he’s in a great deal of pain, and yet he’s having to work through that pain. And he’s been recently working on being able to transfer from one chair to another chair. That’s something that we don’t necessarily think about very much,

but when you’re paralyzed the waist down, it is a great deal to have to work on. And he’s having to build up his upper level muscles strength in order to be able to do that. But anyway, he continues to be optimistic. He and his wife, Sherry put on a Facebook thing this morning, talking about all the trials that they’ve had to go through.

And she remembers how that as she was laying there on the ground, right after the accident, her praying that God wasn’t going to take Don at this time, she wasn’t ready, but continues to be thankful for all the progress that they both have made and continues to be thankful as well as Don does as well expresses it Often how much They appreciate all the prayers that have been offered on their behalf.

And so please continue to remember them in your prayers, but I wanted to give you some idea as to the progress that has been made. Several have asked concerning Sherry. They’ve never really stated as to how bad her situation was. She had back problems before this. She’s going to have back problems after this. But other than that, we don’t really know the extent of her injuries,

but please continue to remember both of them in your prayers. They’ve also made mention that the process of redoing their house to make it wheelchair accessible has already been going on. And so they are anxiously awaiting to be able to go home and to see how things are Now because of the changes that have had to been, to be made, to make It to where he can get through the house with a wheelchair.

We started a lesson entitled. There is a God, and we only covered one point in that particular lesson. We talked about the fact that I believe in God, because of the word that he has given to us. I asked you to think about why is it that you believe in God many times when we ask members of the church anyway, as to why they believe in God?

The answer is well because the Bible says that he exists. That’s good, But unfortunately that’s not going to convince many in the world today. And so we need to be thinking about this. So as we can give to others, answers reasons as to why we do believe in God. And so we do start with the fact that yes, I believe in God because of the word that he has given to us.

And we went through a notice, several things from the scriptures by way of prophecy and fulfillment and other things show to us that in fact it has to be from God, man could not have written it on his own. And to know that those things that are recorded there have been verified by history and verified by archeology verified in various ways to show that in fact,

what the Bible says isn’t Is true, but How did those Bible writers know those things Way back then? The Bible truly is a great book. It demonstrates to us over and over again, the fact that God does exist, but let me suggest to you. And I’m going to try to cover these other three points today, but I would suggest to you that another reason that I believe in God is because of nature because of nature.

When you open up your Bibles, for example, to the eighth salt, the eighth Psalm is a relatively short Psalm. It’s only nine verses. And yet it has so much to say concerning God. And I want us to just notice a couple of verses verses three and four, where the Salma says, we believe David is the writer of the song,

But he says, when I consider the heavens the work of thy fingers, the moon And the stars, which thou hast ordained, what is man that thou art mindful of him and the son of man that thou visit us to the point that David here is making is when you look out and you behold the things of the universe, they are so magnificent and so great.

And so all inspired. And yet when you look, You get them and then you consider you as a single human being. What are you in compared to all of that? What am I in compared to all of that? And the answer is nothing. I’m nothing. And yet God Has great care and concern for each and every one of us. When you turn to the 19th soul,

The first six verses of that song, again, believed to be a Psalm of David. He writes The heavens, declare the glory of God and the firmament show with his handiwork. They in today, under his speech and night and tonight show with knowledge, there is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world in them half.

He said a tabernacle for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out, coming out of his chamber and rejoices as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the earth and his circuit under the ends of it, and is nothing here from the heat thereof here. He speaks concerning even the sun and how that the sun is that which demonstrates to us,

shows us just how God really years. And so the revelation of God speaks concerning the works of God or the creation of God and how that those things can help to instill in us the fact that God does exist. There is no other explanation for it. The apostle Paul, when he writes to the Romans in Romans chapter, one says there in verses 19 and 20 speaking,

concerning those Gentiles and their situation when they were outside the body of Christ, not having obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ and before the gospel was ever presented. He says that because that, which may be known of God is manifest in them for God, has showed it under them for the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made,

even his eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse. Paul says, even the Gentiles are those that are without excuse because of the evidence that God left to hit left to us, which says, God does exist. As far as the universe is concerned. And he speaks concerning. In fact, the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen.

There is evidence that is available to us by the things that he created. And yet there are things that he created that we cannot see with our own eyes. And yet Paul says we could clearly perceive those things. You think concerning the, the atoms that make up our body, we know that exists. And yet we can’t see them with our eye,

even with the greatest of telescopes, we can’t see those are microscopes. And yet it is such that we know that they’re there, that we know how they act and react to various things. And those intricacies are those that proclaim God does exist if we are truly willing to examine the evidence. So I believe that God exists because of nature. But let me also suggest to you that I believe that God does exist because of logical reasoning,

logical reasoning. There are various arguments that are given to us in scripture. Sure. And yet the principal pull of those arguments are also demonstrate, demonstrated to us outside of the scriptures. For example, open your Bible to the book of Hebrews chapter three, Hebrews chapter three, a statement that the Hebrew writer, whoever it is, whether it’s Paul or somebody else just makes in passing is for every house is builded by some man.

And he, the built all things is God. What’s the point that he’s making. The point that he’s making is that when you see a house, it doesn’t matter how well built it is. It doesn’t matter if it’s a great structure, as far as the appearance is concerned, or whether it’s just a shack. You still know beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Somebody built that somebody made that thing. They may not have been very good at it, but somebody did it. It didn’t just appear same. Thing’s true. As far as the world is concerned, as the universe is concerned, it didn’t just appear. It had to be made by somebody. And Paul of course reminds, or the Hebrew writer reminds them that God is the maker of all things.

And so it is important for us to understand that. And so what he’s indicating here is the law that we have of in science, which is called the law of cause and effect. You can see the effect of something such as the house that is built and know that there had to be an adequate cause to bring that about. There has to be an adequate cause to bring something about it,

doesn’t just automatically happen. And so when you think, for example, concerning the universe and the things that make up the universe, how do you explain their existence? We know that they do exist. How did they come into be? Well, there are only three options as to how the matter in the universe came to be. One is by spontaneously arising out of nothing.

The idea here is that you start with absolutely nothing. And then somewhere along the way, something happens and automatically nothing becomes something we think concerning that. And we somewhat chuckle. There are people that actually believe that that’s their explanation as to how the universe came into be there was nothing. And then instantaneously, all of a sudden, here it is, The Bible says,

that’s not correct. Science says, that’s not correct. If you out with nothing, You’re going to end with nothing. Science demonstrates that as well. They’ve been working for years and years and years, trying to promote the idea and trying to prove scientifically that you can start with nothing and end up with something. And yet every time it’s been an utter failure,

they cannot do it. And then by the way, they’re going to try to tell you that that’s what happened without any encouragement or any Knowledge to bring that about. I somewhat chuckle at that because what they’re trying to say is they don’t have knowledge and they’re trying to get it to come out about that way. It doesn’t work. Option. Number two is that matter has always existed.

It’s always been here and yet again, the Bible says that’s not true, but science also says that’s not true matter has not always existed. And one of the laws of science speaks concerning the fact that everything is running down, everything is decaying and running out. Even the earth itself is running down. Therefore it hasn’t always existed option. Of course he is that it was created,

created from nothing by a creator who has to be something exterior to the universe, but also greater than the universe. That of course is what the scriptures do. Affirm that God did create the heavens and the earth. Oftentimes we hear the question and we joke and we laugh about it when we hear it. But it’s really a valid question, which came first,

the chicken or the aide. If you say the hate, then where did the eight come from? If you say the chicken, well, where did the chicken come from? You see a natural means. You can’t talk about that. You can’t give an answer an adequate explanation for it. The Bible gives the explanation that everything that God created, he created,

created full grown. So it wasn’t an egg, but it was a full grown chicken that he created, but you’d carry that forth. And you also asked the question, well, which came first, the sapling or the full grown tree. Well, there was the full grown tree. He created everything full grown just as he created man full grow and woman full grow and then made it where those trees,

according to the scriptures were at the point of bearing fruit. Even at the time that God created them, Which came first, the baby or the adult, of course it was the adult that God made full grown. When you turned to the 139th Psalm There in verse 14, Again, believed to be a Psalm of David. He says, I will praise thee for,

I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works and that my soul, no with right. Well here, David speaks concerning the very idea of that. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. If you want To look at evidence that there has to be a creator, just look at the human body, investigate the human body because it cries out over and over again.

There has to be somebody greater than us that put all of these things together. There are several different systems that we have in our body and yet without just one of those systems, our body can’t work. It can’t exist. And therefore we have to have all of them at the same time to have life within us, therefore design and how the purposeful design implies that there is a designer,

The evolutionist, okay, Now we’re promoting the idea that the body doesn’t lend forth design. And yet it’s interesting how they’ll take various parts of the body and tie, try to replicate them in things such as when you look at the eye, the eye of course was used as an example for a camera and they continued to try to improve the camera, whether it’s on your cell phone or,

or just a regular Canberra, they continue to try to improve it. And yet a camera is not as fast or as effective or as good as an eye is still is not the case. They continue to have to improve and improve and improve concerning those things. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works. Even the human body demonstrates that,

but certainly You can look at the various animals. It’s interesting how unique animals are in many different ways and how That people have trouble realizing How that there are some animals that have to be very, very, ah, Have, Have various parts of their body that make them unique, but also make it to where they can live. One of the examples,

and I don’t have all the particulars because I didn’t write them down. But one of the examples is the giraffe. So Tall has to have so much pressure within its body in order to be able to keep that head. That is so far above the earth, working the way that it’s supposed to. And yet it will bow down and it will get a drink of water from the very lowest part.

And yet it doesn’t explode. And yet they Now recognize there is a certain part in that giraffe, which keeps his body from exploding from having to high blood pressure, Just to make it to where he can exist. I believe in God, because of raw logical reasoning. So There’s, there must be something greater than man. There must be something greater than we are Cells in order for these things to have happened.

Something I read just this week is okay. The comparison that has been made just recently, anyway, we’ve heard for years and years and years, how that the chimpanzee is, are Just relative. If you believe in evolution anyway, and It has been stated that the chimpanzee, the, the similarities between the chimpanzee and the human being is 98%, Is it only 2% difference?

Well, somebody, I don’t remember which university that was, was investigating this and testing it, come to find out Between a chimpanzee and a human being. We are 89%. Not Like we’re not Similar to the chimpanzee in so many different Ways. You think that’s not going to cause some problems for those who believe in evolution. Yes, it is. They don’t.

I believe that we came from chimpanzees, but they believe that we have a common relative back there from which both came from sprouted off from one another. But the fact of the matter is we’re not like the chimpanzee, except maybe in 11%. I believe in God. Yes. Because of the logical reasoning that proclaims that in fact God must exist. But finally,

I believe in God because of the alternative, because of the alternative, without God, we would have a world that is filled with immorality. We may think it’s filled with immorality right now. It’s not, it’s not anything like it was back during the day of Genesis chapter six, when God destroyed the earth with water during the time of Noah. But you look at Romans chapter one.

Again, we noted this earlier, but it’s noticed a couple of different verses beginning in verse 26, Paul speaks concerning that Gentile world. Again, he says for this, cause God gave them up under vile affections for even their women did change the natural use into that, which is against nature. And likewise, also the men leaving the natural use of the woman burned in their lust.

One toward another men with men working that, which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error, which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things, which are not convenient. Paul Here speaks concerning the idea of homosexuality. And he speaks concerning the fact that this is not natural.

It is not what is natural, even though we’re being force fed. If you will, in our society today in our country, the idea that it is natural, I saw a comic strip on Facebook just the other day shows two little boys. One boy says, did you realize that there are 58 different genders Today? The Other little boy says, no,

there’s not. There’s only two male and female. The others are all mental cases. Well, that’s true. And yet that’s the thing that our children are being forced fed in schools concerning that whole idea that all of this is natural. And yet God’s word says it is not natural. And because they didn’t like to retain God in their knowledge, God is going to give them over to a reprobate mind.

That’s what we’re seeing. That’s what we’re seeing in our society today. People more and more who are turning against the Bible, turning against religion in every way, shape or form. Those who claim to be ones who believe in the Bible. And those who claim to be religious are not doing what the Bible teaches. Why should we be surprised? Why should we be surprised that people are falling into those categories?

Remember back then During the time of the flood Genesis chapter six and in verse five, before the flood, God spoke concerning those at that time, how that every imagination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually. No, we’re not that bad yet. We may be getting Close to that, but we’re not that bad yet In the world today,

as they were back then without God, we would have a world filled with immorality. Without God, we would have a world without answers. We would have a world without answers because the evolutionist Has no answer for the origin of life has no answer for the origin of the universe. And many of them are stout. Now starting to, How is that?

When you think concerning life, how did life begin on this globe? They don’t have an answer. All they’ve promised, Oh, did a lot of ideas and a lot of theories. And even tried to proclaim that there are laws, that it is fact that it is the case. And yet now they are some of them. Anyway, some of the,

for most scientists in their own fields are saying, I’m sorry, the facts don’t match up with the Evidence and Of those who is an atheist. Who’s been a promoter of evolution for years and years and years has now come out and begun advancing that life started on this globe because of extraterrestrials that came and planted His wife here. What’s the point he’s making it.

Can’t start on its own. They thrown the entire thing out the window, but they won’t admit that there’s a God. They won’t admit that the Bible is true. So they have to come up with something. And that is his something extra terrestrials came. We have no proof of extra terrestrials by the way, But extra terrestrials came and planted life on this earth.

The Bible Of course says, God did it. Genesis chapter one, God spoke. And those things came into existence. John chapter one tells us the word that became Is the one who created all of those things. And so again, God is the creator of it. Exodus chapter 20, and in verse 11 there, Moses stated for God, when he’s given the 10 commandments,

he says in six days, the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is and rested the seventh day, wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it again. Moses States, God is the one who made it all. It’s interesting. If you have time, Take the time To go through and examine the scriptures and see how many times the scriptures emphasize that God created Everything.

We often think just concerning Genesis one verse one in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And yet over and over and over and over and over again, the scripture say, God created it. This is what he did. He told us, this is what he did. Therefore we know this is what he did. This is proof Without God,

we would have a world without answers. Have you ever, and I know that most all of you have, but have you ever Had to choose between Right and wrong? Had you ever, have you ever had to go through the process of trying to determine what is right and what is wrong? Did you realize if God does not exist? There is no answer to the question.

The majority of the world today wants to say, God does not exist. And yet they want to persecute people, punish people for doing what’s wrong. If God does exist, there is no standard to determine what’s right. That’s wrong. And they know that, okay. That’s why they promote the idea that as long as it’s beneficial to you and it doesn’t hurt somebody else,

go ahead. It’s right. Well, let me ask you this question. Why does it not have to hurt somebody else? If it benefits me and it makes me feel good? What difference does it make? If it hurts you or somebody else, it doesn’t make any difference at all. Just as when a dog kills another animal or a Wolf kills an animal or anything such as that,

we don’t prosecute them and put them to death. That’s their natural way of living. That’s the way God made them. That’s not the case with man, man is different. Without God, we would have a world without answers. And yet there is a right and wrong. Paul, I would write to Timothy reminding him of those things that he was taught from his childhood,

by his mother and his grandmother from the scriptures and how that all scripture is inspired of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, man of God might be perfect. Thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Peter says in second Peter chapter one, and in verse three, then according as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain them to life and godliness Through the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Yes, God has given us the answers in the scriptures. God does not exist. Then we would have a world without hope, a world without hope, because without God, there is no hope. And in fact, Paul even brings that out concerning the Gentiles, that before they obeyed the gospel, they were those who were without Hope and without God in this present world,

yeah, The answers are found in scripture just as we went over and reviewed this morning in our Bible class from revelation chapter two and in verse 10, where Jesus through the apostle, John tells the church, it Smyrna to be one who is faithful unto death. And I will give to the crown of Life, we must be born, Who is faithful,

unto death. We must, as Paul says, first Corinthians chapter 15 and in verse 58, be those who continue to I work for the Lord Because of the great blessings that God has in store for each and every one of us, he says, therefore, my beloved brethren be steadfast. Unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain.

The Lord Paul, when He writes to the Philippians in Philippians chapter Three, says there in verse 14, I press toward the Mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ. Jesus. Paul says there, how that he’s continuing to labor, continuing to work toward that, which is the reward that will be given to those who are The faithful,

who are in the body of Christ. Without God, we would have a world of loneliness, a world of loneliness. We need to understand that if we, We are a member of the body of Christ. If we are a member of the church, there is never a split second in our life that we are Alone. We are not alone. We never have been alone.

We never will be alone. As long as we are Unto him, therefore We should not live as if we are alone. We should not think as if we are alone. God’s plan is for the saints, for the Christians to care for one another. Not only, Only as God, always with us, but we are to recognize the care and the concern that brethren have for us.

And to appreciate it, maybe more than we ever have before. When Jesus talked to those Shortly, before his crucifixion in John chapter 13, he says in verse 35 and this shell by this shall all men know that you’re my disciples. If you have love one to another, I says, well, I don’t believe the brethren loved Me. Well, that’s not the question.

Do you love them? Do you love them? You see brethren are to love one another, okay. Rather than our, to help one another. And we need to recognize that when Paul would write to the Galatians in Galatians chapter six and verses one and two, he says brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual restore,

such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thy selfless, that will also be tempted, bear you one another’s burdens. And so fulfill the law of Christ. Now he will go on and say that we have to bear our own burdens. And so the point that Paul is making, there are some burdens that others can help us to bear. We need to allow them to do that through their encouragement and their insistence assistance and things such as that.

But there are also bear burdens that we have to bear ourselves. But we do not need to think that we’re alone in doing that because God is always with us. Once more from the book of Hebrews chapter three in verses 12 and 13, the Hebrew writer says, take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you, an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God,

but exhort one another daily while it is called today. Lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. We can harden ourselves. We can harden ourselves by refusing to accept the love of God, refusing, to acknowledge the love of God, refusing, to acknowledge and to accept the love and encouragement from our brethren. And even Though we may be a member of the body of Christ,

we can be lost because of that. Without God, we would have a world of lowliness And there is no reason for us to feel lonely, as long as we live on this earth and we’re striving to be faithful. Cool, and no excuses are going to be accepted. Why do I believe God? Because of his word, because of his nature,

The physical world itself, because of rational thinking logic because of the terrible alternative Salma says in the 139th Psalm, and in verse 14, I will praise thee. Again. I will praise thee for, I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works and that my soul, no with right. Well, there is a God. And it’s imperative that we understand that it’s imperative,

that we understand that God does exist and our lives are meaningful because there is a God, no matter what our situation is, no matter what circumstance we find ourselves, our lives are meaningful because there is a God and we have eternal hope of heaven is our eternal reward as members of the body of Christ, because God does exist. And how thankful we should be that we have that hope.

If you’re outside the body of Christ this morning, having heard the word, do you believe it? Are you willing to repent change of mind? Which brings about a change in action. A change in attitude makes restitution where possible are you willing to repent and to confess your faith in Christ, that you believe that he is the son of God. Are you willing to be immersed in water to be baptized for the remission of your sins to receive the forgiveness of sins in order to be saved?

There is no other way whereby you can be saved even though the denominational world puts out all kinds of ways out there. Fact of the matter is they’re all lies. There is no other way to be saved. Only according to what the new Testament teaches. Are you willing to do that? To be immersed in water, to come out of that watery grave of baptism,

a child of God, a babe in Christ, having been added to the church, added to the family of God, added to the kingdom, added to the body. Are you willing to do that? If you’re one is already a member of the body of Christ, but you’ve turned back, you’ve gone back into the world. Please come back, make another turn,

come back repenting and praying to God for forgiveness. If we can help you, will you come as together? We stand and as we sing.
